Join me on this 3 day, 2 night adventure. The route takes us throught a little bit of everything; cottage country, wilderness areas and the inland waters of Georgian Bay. Since the trip to Killarney organized by Gary and Andrea is full, let's start a second group to the same location.  I've always said that if someone told me that they would like to try canoeing just once, then this is the trip that I would have in mind for them.
We will hike the Crack and explore other areas of interest.
This is a basic flat water canoe route as described by Gary James for the same date.
Park fees and share of reservation fee are in effect.
I have booked the camp grounds from September 9 to September 12, (three nights).  Participants may choose to stay September 8 at George Lake campground on their own or at nearby Grundy Lake Provincial park.

Join us once again for this Fall Festival weekend canoe trip. We have booked a group campsite on Bentshoe Lakes near Haliburton off of hwy 118. Gourmet food is the theme for this trip and there is one short portage to the lake. The lake is small but has connecting lakes to explore for the weekend. The permit and Saturday dinner, cooking will be split between participants. Trash Can Turkey with all the trimmings will be a group effort. Permit restrictions limit us to 8 tents and 16 people. Please consider sharing a tent on this trip. Therefore members willing to sharing tents will be considered first.

We are going to explore by canoe, Killarney and OSA Lakes. We are also going to hike "To the Crack and back" for the incredible view of the area. The permit fees will be shared by the group. Maximum 4 canoes and eight people.

The canoeing is rated as requiring intermediate canoe tripping skills. Three portages, the longest two are 455 m. Also The Crack is rated as difficult and quite challenging. Allow approx 5-6 hour plus round trip.

Join us on a tour of some of the nicest lakes that Woodland Caribou Park has to offer. With 1.2 million acres and with less than 1000 visitors per year we will have lots of space to ourselves.

The park is home to one of the largest herds of woodland caribou south of Hudson Bay, this weathered Arctic watershed, once traveled by fur traders, promises ancient pictographs, howling wolves under starry skies, soaring eagles, solitude and adventure.

Basic Route: Leano, Bunny, Lunch, Jake, Mexican Hat, Glenn, Hansen, Wrist, Aegean, Paull, Boot Jack, and Leano lake.

Cost:
The shuttle from Red Lake to Leano Lake put in will cost: $140 for 2 plus $25 per person each way. The park permit is $10 / day and we will vote to determine if we want to rent a satellite phone at the additional cost of $50 / week + shipping etc. I will order 1 map per boat Rostul Lake (52 L/15) $15.

Planning:
We will be meeting at our outfitters’ place in Red Lake around 14:00 on Friday August 12th and will be shuttled to the put in at Leano Lake that evening. We will exit on the evening August 23 and stay in Red Lake overnight before heading back home.

Note: This is true boreal wilderness, egress may be long and difficult. Intermediate flat water and canoe tripping skills are required of all participants as is a cautious approach to risk. The topography is relatively flat but there are numerous portages so traveling light is strongly advised.

The Minesing Swamp, centrally located between Barrie and Wasaga Beach, has been identified as the largest and best example of fen bog in southern Ontario. The confluence of the Nottawasaga River with three tributaries provide for an interconnected network of swamps, fens, bogs and marshes. The swamp is an important staging area for thousands of migratory waterfowl, and contains a large heron rookery.

We will enter from Willow Creek, cross the central flood area before joining the Nottawasaga, and follow the river down to Edenvale. A pleasant day’s paddle for canoeists of all skill levels.

Over the last five years we have enjoyed perfect weather, portage free paddling, and a social barbeque that has followed our outing. This is a wonderful day to enjoy an easy moving river and to socialize with other WCA’ers. The trip will start in south Cambridge, where we will put in, and then paddle to Paris. We will pass through scenic farm country, negotiate some easy Class one water, and stop for lunch along the way. Many of you have asked us for a fall trip so here it is. Algonquin is a place people travel from all around the world to see it's fall colours. This is a great time of year to trip with warm days, cool nights, and no bugs. This trip is for women of all skill levels who would like to spend time in the wilderness at this beautiful time of year. Portages will never seem so lovely with their canopies of colour. Price $250

This is a great trip for women who would like to explore a new area or for those who reside in the East side of Ontario. There is lots of solitude, primitive camping, and beautiful waterfalls to be found in this area. This trip will have a little of everything: lakes, rivers, and a little moving water. Women who would like the opportunity to learn to paddle in moving water will get the chance, and those who would prefer to walk around can do so. A great opportunity to explore a new wilderness area that not many get the chance see. Price $350.00

We will meet in Killarney after noon on Friday and have a base camp at Bell Lake for three nights. Paddling the David Lake Loop one day, and hiking to Silver Peak the other day. Leaving Killarney again Monday a.m. to be back in the city in the late afternoon.
Suitable for participants with intermediate canoe tripping & hiking skils.
